Charles Shannon
Interim president
Charles Shannon serves as Interim President of Rockwise Strategies, where he leads day-to-day operations and helps guide the company's next chapter of growth. Charles stepped into the role after more than two years as a strategic advisor to founders Doug and Tammy Loeffler. This work gave him a genuine appreciation for the people, the projects, and the values that have shaped the company from the start.
Construction has been a part of Charles' life from the very beginning. He grew up in Minneapolis, where his father co-owned Cobb Strecker Dunphy & Zimmermann, an insurance firm that provided bonding and insurance to large construction companies and general contractors. That early, behind-the-scenes view of the building sector gave Charles a lifelong respect for the industry he now helps lead.
Charles brings a distinctive background to Rockwise Strategies. Over a career of more than 25 years, he has worked both sides of the table, beginning with more than ten years on Wall Street as an investment banker, followed by sixteen years in executive leadership roles across private equity, venture capital, and operating companies. That blend of sell-side and buy-side experience gives him a unique lens for strengthening operations, sharpening strategy, and growing the business, a fresh perspective applied to the everyday work of running the company.
Before his business career, Charles served in the United States Navy and is proud to be a veteran. He holds a BA in Corporate Finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
Outside of Rockwise Strategies, Charles is an avid golfer and pickleball player who treasures time at home with the three most important people in his life, his supportive wife and two amazing daughters.
